Brian Sherman is an entrepreneur, entertainment executive, composer, lyricist and the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of IPEX Artists Agency (IAA).
With over twenty years of experience in the industry, Brian specializes in the representation of dramatists and theatrical intellectual property, as well as the development and representation of iconic works for live stage shows and experiences around the world.
Throughout his career, Brian has worked with or on behalf of the most celebrated authors and shows in the history of theatre and music, including Lin-Manuel Miranda, Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, Disney Theatricals, Stephen Schwartz, Stephen Sondheim, Jerry Herman, Alan Menken, Dean Pitchford, Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, and Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty. Brian has also worked with globally renowned brands, literary properties and catalogues, including Garfield, Mad Libs and the estates of Cole Porter, George and Ira Gershwin, Tennessee Williams, Arthur Miller, Marvin Hamlisch, Irving Berlin and Rodgers & Hammerstein.
Prior to launching IAA in 2019, Brian worked for fifteen years for leading theatrical publishing and licensing firms, including Rodgers and Hammerstein Theatricals, Music Theatre International and Samuel French, Inc., where he held positions of diverse responsibility encompassing client management, licensing, publishing, marketing and business development. Brian has guest lectured at both colleges and community arts organizations on disciplines including music publishing, theatrical licensing, songwriting and arts management. Brian began his career as a singer-songwriter and composer-lyricist of musicals, is an alumnus of the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop, an ASCAP affiliate, and holds a B.A. in music from Muhlenberg College where he studied composition and voice.
